Atomic Blonde (2017) - Review

Atomic Blonde is a great spy film, with all the espionage, betrayals and action you could want. I remember watching this back when it came out, and 19 year old me was confused about motivations and where people’s allegiances lied. Which… *bonk* that was the point idiot!! Part of the intrigue comes from not knowing what characters true intentions are, and watching how the story unfolds is part of the fun. Included in that fun is the action, which is so visceral and intense. The one-take staircase fight especially showcases how excellent these stunt performers are, including Charlize Theron. Not only does she give a great performance, but she performs all the stunts herself. Add on a great supporting cast and some great Cold War vibes, and this action movie shouldn’t be ignored.
